The U.S.-based Taiwanese artist Lee Ming-wei’s (李明維) solo exhibition “Lee Mingwei: Rituals of Care” is open at the de Young Museum of the Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco (FAMSF). It gained attention from international media such as The Guardian and is deemed as one of the unmissable exhibitions in 2024.

Inspired by personal experiences and world events, Lee Ming-wei creates interactive installations and performances. Asking how art can encourage social connection and healing in a time of so much trauma and loss, the exhibition features projects made between 1995 and 2020 that place the visitor at the center of radical acts of generosity and care.

The exhibition showcases six pieces of Lee Ming-wei’s renowned works, including “100 Days with Lily (水仙的一百天),” “The Letter Writing Project (魚雁計畫),” “The Mending Project (補裳計畫),” “Sonic Blossom (聲之綻),” “Guernica in Sand (如沙的格爾尼卡),” and “Our Peaceable Kingdom (我們的和平國度).” His latest creation, “Chaque souffle une danse (息之華),” is also being put on display.

This exhibition runs now until July 7. For more information, please visit FAMSF’s website.
