Queens Public Library in NY to feature Taiwan Book Corner in May

The Taipei Cultural Center in New York (TCC) collaborates with the Queens Public Library to present the Taiwan Book Corner, showcasing 13 excellent books from Taiwan at the library’s Forest Hills, Bayside, and Flushing branches.

The month-long event will kick off on May 9, inviting Shih Shu-ching (施叔青), the author of “Taiwan Trilogy (台灣三部曲),” and Lin King (金翎), the translator of the graphic novel “The Boy from Clearwater (來自清水的孩子),” to engage in an author talk.

The TCC remarked that the Queens area is one of the largest areas in New York City and the Queens Public Library shares the same goals of celebrating multiculturalism. They noted that the Taiwan Book Corner will include a wide variety of themes and genres, including feminism, queer, culture, and history, sharing Taiwan’s culture with the world through reading.
