Taiwan video arts showcase to take place in US

The Taipei Cultural Center in New York, in collaboration with EXPO CHICAGO and Taiwan’s Hong-Gah Museum (鳳甲美術館), will host “Taiwan Video Arts Selection-Interwoven Timelines” at EXPO CHICAGO. This event marks Taiwan’s debut with its own pavilion in the “Special Projects” sector of the prestigious art fair, featuring a curated selection of cutting-edge video works by contemporary Taiwanese artists.

Curated by Zoe Yeh(葉佳蓉), Director of Hong-Gah Museum, “Interwoven Timelines” explores how video art serves as a powerful medium to examine personal and collective memory, historical transitions, and the fluid nature of time. Having participated in EXPO CHICAGO’s 2024 Curatorial Exchange, Yeh’s involvement in this year’s project underscores Taiwan’s growing engagement in the international art scene.

“Interwoven Timelines” showcases seven Taiwanese artists—Chen Liang-Hsuan (陳亮璇), Chen Yin-Ju (陳瀅如), Hsu Chia-Wei (許家維), Liu Yu (劉玗) & Wu Sih-Chin (吳思嶔), Wu Chi-Yu (吳其育) and Zhang Xu Zhan (張徐展)—who investigate the intersections of history, mythology, and contemporary realities through video art.

The showcase will take place from Apr. 24 to 27. For more information, please visit:
