The 44th Hawaii International Film Festival (HIFF), set to take place from Oct. 2 to Nov. 10, has nominated three Taiwanese films in the NETPAC (the Network for the Promotion of Asian Cinema) Award. The nominated films are “Hunter Brothers (獵人兄弟),” “Dead Talents Society (鬼才之道),” and “Who’ll Stop the Rain (青春並不溫柔).”
Additionally, four Taiwanese short films have been selected in the festival’s Shorts Programs, namely, “Fortune Cookie (籤語餅),” “Mamu (馬慕),” “Tayal Forest Club (男孩奇幻夜),” and “Where the Mountain Women Sing (山女).” Meanwhile, “Old Fox (老狐狸),” a film representing Taiwan in the 97th Oscars, will also be featured in the festival.
The Taiwan Academy in Los Angeles highlighted that the HIFF plays a significant role in fostering cultural exchange between Asia, Pacific islands, and Northern America. For more information, visit the HIFF website.
