Several Taiwanese films to feature at 2022 New York Asian Film Festival

With the support of the Taipei Cultural Center in New York, Taiwanese films "Mama Boy (初戀慢半拍)," "The Funeral (頭七)," "My Best Friend's Breakfast (我吃了那男孩一整年的早餐)," "Terrorizers (青春弒戀)," "Life for Sale (售命)," "Tank Fairy (桶妝仙女)," and "Reclaim (一家之主)" will be featured at Film at Lincoln Center (FLC) and Asia Society from July 16 to 29, as part of the 2022 New York Asian Film Festival.

"Mama Boy" and "The Funeral" are scheduled to premiere at the FLC's Walter Reade Theater on July 16 and 20, respectively. One of the highlights of this upcoming Taiwanese cinema showcase is the premiere of three films in a row at Walter Reade Theater on July 24, including "My Best Friend's Breakfast," "Terrorizers," and "Life for Sale." In addition, "Tank Fairy," a short film co-produced by Taiwanese and US companies, will be part of the NYAFF's Narrative Shorts Showcase on July 28.

Moreover, "Reclaim," which is scheduled to premiere at Asia Society on July 29, has been nominated for this year's Uncaged Award for the NYAFF's Best Feature Film Competition. The film is a beautifully nuanced character study about late-life female empowerment through self-actualization. Director CJ Wang (王希捷) will also attend the premiere to lead the post-screening Q&A session.

The New York Asian Film Festival is co-presented by the New York Asian Film Foundation and Film at Lincoln Center in association with Asia Society. The NYAFF 20th anniversary lineup showcases the most exciting new action, comedy, drama, thriller, romance, horror, and art-house films from Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, China, South Korea, the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Mongolia, Singapore, and the United States.
