Taiwanese curators to participate in EXPO CHICAGO

EXPO CHICAGO, an international contemporary and modern art exhibition, will host the 10th edition of the in-person exposition on Apr. 13 through 16, 2023 at Navy Pier in Chicago, featuring leading international galleries alongside the highest quality platform for contemporary art and culture.

In collaboration with EXPO CHICAGO, the Taipei Cultural Center (TCC) in New York will select two Taiwanese curators to participate in the Curatorial Exchange program during the four-day event, along with curators from nine countries to discuss shared perspectives, goals and challenges facing the field.

Through this program, the TCC in New York hopes to provide an opportunity for Taiwanese curators who are interested in the U.S. and international markets to engage in in-depth exchanges with people from the international arts and culture community and establish contacts; as well as explore the possibilities of international cooperation in the field of visual arts.

The Curatorial Exchange provides mid-career and established curators working internationally the opportunity to engage with their peers as well as international exhibitors, local galleries, cultural institutions and Chicago-based artists. Developed in partnership with foreign consulates and cultural organizations, this invitation-only program fosters critical dialogue about the Chicago and Midwest art scenes from an international perspective. 2023 Curatorial Exchange participants are based in Australia, Denmark, France, Italy, Mexico, the Netherlands, Spain, Taiwan, and the United Kingdom. In 2023, EXPO CHICAGO will host more than 140 leading international exhibitors at Navy Pier’s Festival Hall.

The city of Chicago has proudly hosted a global contemporary and modern art exposition for nearly forty years and serves as the site of the first international art fair in the Americas. Since its inception, EXPO CHICAGO has remained dedicated to supporting local, regional, and international arts communities. Moving forward, the exposition will be presented annually in April, with Apr. 11 to 14, 2024 as dates for the 11th edition at Navy Pier.
