Co-organized by the Ministry of Culture and the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Malaysia, the INXO Arts and Cultural Foundation has conducted the "Tea Philo" E-Talk, a series of sharing sessions revolving around the discussion of philosophies and humanities.
The latest Tea Philo Etalk titled "Fashion Wave, Faith Nonstop" features speaker Titan Wu (吳孟寰), spokesperson for the Taipei Xiahai City God Temple, one of the most popular temples in Taiwan. The ETalk was broadcast through Tea Philo’s Facebook page on July 17.
Wu believed that, besides daily economic activities, festivals, and cultural activities are also frequently held around the area, organizers have to make continuous efforts not only to pass down traditions, but also to showcase and educate younger generations on the rich history of the area. Therefore, the temple can further promote the inner culture by cultivating young people's feelings and sense of belonging to this culture and place.
XCGT holds large-scale highlight activities in Spring, Summer, and Autumn. Among these, most famous events should be "Dihua New Year Market" and "Lantern Festival" held in Spring.
The activities, which have gone over big since its launch, have successively received support from local business, cultural organization, Bureau of Cultural Affairs of city government, and Ministry of Culture, bringing new life and attention to the once-declining Dihua Street.
In addition, "Theatrical in Spring DaDaoCheng" is one of the primary activities in spring, while the month-long "Taipei Xia-Hai City God Cultural Festival" in summer is regarded as the largest annual event in Dadaocheng.
At last, Wu pointed out that when planning XCGT's blueprint for future development, its own development must be integrated with community and local industry.
Hence, the year-round activities not only promote the temple culture, but also facilitate the promotion of local cultural and economic events. With multiple benefits, the entire city will move towards better development together.
