The 18th BookFest Malaysia, held from April 6 to 14, featured the participation of Taiwanese authors Tai Chen-chih (戴晨志), Chang Man-chuan (張曼娟), Huang Shang-liao (黃山料), and Peter Su (蘇世豪), who were invited to share their creative journeys with local readers.

Known as the largest Chinese book fair in Southeast Asia, BookFest Malaysia serves as a hub for the latest international publications, spanning Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore, the U.K., the U.S., Canada, Australia, Belgium, and China.

Joann See (施慧儀), the procurement manager of the Popular Bookstore and organizer of the event, highlighted that the Taiwan Pavilion has always been a main attraction during the book fair. In addition to famous authors like Tai Chen-chih and Chang Man-chuan, this year also saw the engagement of young authors such as Huang Shang-liao and Peter Su.

The festival also featured the debut of the Chinese version of “The Asian Renaissance,” a book by Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. It was written by Anwar in 1996 while serving as the country’s Deputy Prime Minister, sharing his philosophy and political visions.
