The Cultural Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in Thailand participated in the 2025 Bangkok International Book Fair, held from Mar. 27 to Apr. 7. The division showcased a wide range of publications from Taiwan, including Taiwanese literary translations and winners of the Golden Butterfly Award, the most prestigious award for book design in the country.
At the opening ceremony, Doong Sy-chi (董思齊), Minister at the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Thailand, noted that the Cultural Division of the Office has participated in the Bangkok International Book Fair since 2020, introducing Taiwan’s publications, including picture books, comics, and literary works, to Thai publishers and readers. This year’s exhibition highlights Taiwan’s unique book design, aiming to showcase the island’s creativity and aesthetics, he added.
Duangporn Sutthisomboon, vice president of the Publishers and Booksellers Association of Thailand (PUBAT), expressed her admiration at Taiwan’s beautiful book designs and hoped that this event would foster more creative exchange and collaborations between the two countries.
Wu Jui-che (吳睿哲), the 2025 Golden Butterfly Award gold prize winner, and Yang Shih-yi (楊士毅), author of the art book “Happiness Without Thresholds (沒有門檻的幸福),” attended the event and engaged with local readers.
