Taiwan and France create industrial opportunities through talent exchange program

To deepen ties between Taiwan's future content industry and the world of technology and talent, the Taiwan Creative Content Agency and the French NewImages Festival jointly launched the Taiwan-France XR Day Talents Networking Program, holding activities on Nov. 8 and 9.

XR talents from France and Taiwan met online to focus on themes such as XR production and distribution, channels, platforms, and the Metaverse. Four events were held, including one case discussion, two mini forums, and a one-to-one meeting on Nov. 9.

At the discussion session on Nov. 8, the founder of Serendipity Films Estela Valdivieso Chen (陳斯婷) and VR director Lai Kuan-yuan (賴冠源) were invited to share their experiences with transnational cooperation, how to turn adversity into prosperity, and resource allocation, offering an open window onto the secrets of success in transnational collaboration.

The first mini forum invited Lee Huai-chin (李懷瑾), project coordinator of the Kaohsiung Film Archive’s VR Film Lab, to engage with Camille Lopato, founder of France's Diversion Cinema, in a discussion on issues such as XR’s future market channels, market trends, and the potential value in future development.

In the second mini forum, Maud Clavier, product manager for VRrOOm in France, and Kurt Liu, head of content ecosystem at XRSPACE in Taiwan, focused on how VR content creators can effectively use relevant tools to enter the ecosystem of the Metaverse, connect with the Metaverse and other platforms, and explore the future development of the Metaverse between Taiwan and France.

At the one-on-one meeting on Nov. 9, Taiwan's XR leaders were invited to have one-on-one talks with 12 selected French XR talents. The meetings were aimed at developing in-depth understandings of the past and present work of both sides, as well as at engaging in more discussions on possible directions for future cooperation.

TAICCA chairperson Ting Hsiao-ching remarked that Taiwan's XR talents have expanded their horizons and connected with the wider world through these exchanges.
