Taiwanese bands rock Japan at Ringo Music Fest

In an effort to promote the Taiwanese indie music scene to Japanese audiences, the Taiwan Cultural Center in Japan collaborated with the Ringo Music Fest to set up a first ever “Romantic Taiwan stage” at the festival, featuring artists such as Lilium (百合花), Shallow Levée (淺堤), and Ma Nien-hsien (馬念先).

On Sept. 29, the Taiwanese artists performed at the music festival, bringing a large number of festival goers to the stage. The performance was well received by the audience, many of whom were first time listeners to Taiwanese music.

During a press conference in Tokyo on Oct. 1, the artists recalled on the performance, and expressed their gratitude to the concert goers.

The Ringo Music Fest, which takes place every September in Matsumoto, Nagano, features over 150 artists at the festival, attracting thousands of music lovers to the concerts each year.
