The Cultural Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in the Czech Republic and Mi:Lu Publishing s.r.o (捷克麋鹿出版社), in collaboration with Mi:Lu Publishing s.r.o (捷克麋鹿出版社), promoted an array of Czech-translated Taiwanese literature works during the 28th international book fair and literary festival, known as Book World Prague 2023, from May 11 to 14.

Sponsored by the Ministry of Culture's Grant for the Publication of Taiwanese Works in Translation (翻譯出版獎勵計畫), the books exhibited by the Mi:Lu Publishing s.r.o included "Kaohsiung Night Market Boy (夜市少年)," "Catterdamerung (貓劍客)," "Opinions of the Baby Flying Squirrel (小鼯鼠的看法)," "GroundZero (零地點)," "Chiao Lee: Lidská koule a jiné povídky (李喬短篇小說選集:人球)," and more.

Taiwanese writers Liu Ka-shiang (劉克襄) and Egoyan Zheng (伊格言) were invited to conduct book signings and participate in book fair activities. The Taiwan literature booth also organized a range of activities, including new book launches and translator-sharing sessions, in order to attract a larger audience of Czech readers.

In addition, the Cultural Division of the TECO in the Czech Republic and Mi:Lu Publishing s.r.o partnered with key institutions, including DOX Centre for Contemporary Art, Charles University, and Palacký University Olomouc, to organize events, where Liu Ka-shiang and Egoyan Zheng, along with Czech illustrator Tomáš Řízek, shared their creative experiences and introduced the contemporary literary scene in Taiwan.

To increase the visibility of Taiwan's literature on the global stage and assist Taiwanese authors and publishing houses in reaching international audiences, Taiwan's Ministry of Culture has been providing long-term support for the translation and promotion of Taiwanese works. Additionally, the promotion activities for this event received support from the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic, highlighting their commitment to cultural exchange between the two countries.

Since its inception in 1995, the Book World Prague, known as the largest international book fair and literary festival in the Czech Republic, has become a globally influential emerging book fair, with the on-site book copyright and sales transaction volume continuously increasing.
