"An Evening of Musical Landscapes,” a small concert held by Taiwanese-British musician Tseng Shu-wei (曾淑偉), kicked off on March 18 as part of the 2016 Taiwan Cultural Salon(臺灣文化沙龍) series in London.

Tseng, an exception musician with the cello and piano, introduced a curated selection of works by renowned Taiwanese composer Lin Chin-yow (林進祐), followed by works from several Western composers.

Just like writers and painters, composers draw inspiration from their natural surroundings. Even the most sophisticated sounds are often motivated by a simple scene or idea. "An Evening of Musical Landscapes” can be viewed as an exploration of this concept across different eras and cultures.
