Taiwanese illustrator You Cheng-shiun (游承勳), also known as GGDOG, received the Silver Prize in Advertising at the U.S. Illustrators 67th Annual Exhibition. He attended the award ceremony held in New York on Feb. 28, where he engaged with illustrators from around the world.
The artist created the main visual theme of the Independent Book Festival (獨書祭) in Taipei in both 2023 and 2024, and both designs were selected for the Illustrators 67. He noted that representing Taiwanese creators at the exhibition is a great honor for him.
You shared that he has been passionate about drawing since childhood. However, due to the lack of art-related courses in Taiwan, he chose to major in industrial design at university before eventually transitioning to illustration.
Founded in 1901, the Society of Illustrators is the oldest nonprofit organization dedicated to the art of illustration in America. It hosts the illustrators exhibition annually, attracting thousands of international submissions each year.
