TIFA to premiere new musical by Godot

The 2017 Taipei International Festival of Arts organized by the National Theater and Concert Hall will kick off this March. It has invited Godot Theatre Company this year, to launch a large-scale Asian musical.

Godot Theatre Company will return from hiatus with the musical comedy “Oh! My Mom!!” and lead actor Sam Tseng is taking part in a musical for the first time. Though he is already a theater professional, he also needs to act and sing for this play, which poses a great challenge to his singing ability and physical strength. In addition to Sam Tseng, musician Phoebe Huang will also make her musical debut.

Apart from Tseng and Huang, the cast also includes Bobby Dou, Eve Ai, Sharon Kwan, and other theater actors. Although many of them have never performed in a musical before, Director Liang Chi-ming noted that public anticipation is high because it will be their first time.

With the company’s versatile playwriting skills, along with 22 songs by noted composer Chris Babida, Godot Theatre Company is set to present a joyful and heartfelt musical this spring.
