DISABLED ARTISTS, WRITERS HONORED

The awards ceremony for the 13th Enable Prize – the National Literary Awards for the Physically or Mentally Handicapped – was held by the Ministry of Culture to honor 32 winning entries from across Taiwan.


LA TAIWAN ACADEMY TO OFFER FREE MOVIES

To provide Californian audiences with a taste of Taiwan, the Taiwan Academy outpost in Los Angeles’ Westwood community will be hosting free movie nights from Jan. 8 through Feb. 26.


COSMOS PEOPLE TO HOLD JAPAN CONCERTS

Japanese music lovers will soon be able to enjoy live performances by Taiwanese indie-pop trio Cosmos People in March 2015. The concerts in Osaka and Tokyo will mark the band's 10th anniversary of establishment.


ACCELERATE@CERN: OPEN CALL

To promote cross-field cooperation in science and the arts, the Republic of China (Taiwan) Ministry of Culture and the European Council for Nuclear Research (CERN) have come together to create Accelerate@CERN TAIWAN.


'IMAGES OF TIME'

“Images of Time” will offer 52 paintings by Taiwanese artist Sun Ying-lun from Dec. 20 through March 1, encompassing a medley of subject matters that include landscapes, flowers and birds, and people.


'AUSPICIOUS RADIANCE OF THE 7 JEWELS'

An exhibition on southern Chinese Buddhist artwork and artifacts dating back from 1,500 years ago will open at the National Museum of Prehistory in Taitung City from Dec. 20 through March 20, 2015.


'THE WILDSCREEN FESTIVAL'

A selection of productions screened at the UK-based Wildscreen Festival and Panda Awards, known as the Oscars of the natural history and wildlife film industry, will be shown at the NTM in Taipei from Jan. 25 to Feb. 8.


'SIRAYAN CULTURE'

Indigenous Sirayan culture will be featured in a lacquerware and metal craft exhibition organized by the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute (NTCRI) that will run from Dec. 24 through Feb. 28, 2015.


'FRUITFUL IMAGINATION'

The National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall is hosting “Fruitful Imagination – Exhibition of Works by Famous Contemporary Chinese Painters and Calligraphers” at its Chungshan National Gallery from Dec. 20 through Jan. 20.


'PLUM BLOSSOM SEASON' AT CKS

A festival featuring plum blossoms, the national flower of the Republic of China, will be held at the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall from Jan. 10 to 18. A hundred free tickets to the inaugural tea party will be given away at the hall.
