South Korea shall serve its third term as guest nation of the Taipei International Book Exhibition. The "Resident Translators Program" featuring four professional translators from East Asia and Europe will kick off on Feb. 5 in Taiwan as part of the National Museum of Taiwan Literature's efforts to drum up support for translations of Taiwan literature and promote the nation's literary wealth.
Following the donations of Taiwanese art collections by California's Sun Ten Museum and by late painter Lin Yu-shan's family members, a Los Angeles-based descendant of late artist Hung Rui-lin has also decided to donate over 2,500 pieces of his father's paintings and manuscripts to the Ministry of Culture.
The launch of a 10-volume collection on contemporary writers brought together renowned literary figures to observe the achievements presented by the "Compilation of Contemporary Writers in Taiwan," an ongoing project launched by the National Museum of Taiwan Literature in 2010.
