Taiwan names 6 new ‘Living Treasures’
With the addition of these six newly recognized preservers of intangible cultural heritage who are bestowed the title of "National Living Treasures," the Ministry of Culture has now registered a total of 13 "Important Traditional Crafts" and 18 preservers thereof, along with 18 "Important Traditional Performing Arts" and 24 preservers.
NT$1.5 billion devoted to relief, revitalization efforts
In response to the projected impact of COVID-19, the Ministry of Culture has developed a package of relief subsidies and loans, administrative and regulative plans, and revitalization measures for the cultural and arts sectors. Expected to total NT$1.5 billion, this package includes NT$1.1 billion in short-term relief funding and NT$400 million for ongoing revitalization efforts.

Born and raised in Taipei, Kuang-Yi Ku is a dentist, bio-artist, and social designer. In this hybrid practice of bio-art and applied design, Ku creates speculative and provocative works to question how bodies can be reinterpreted within environments that are being dramatically altered by new technologies.

Apart from being a mezzo‐soprano and an extraordinary teacher, Phyllis Gomda Hsi is praised for writing with great fluency and mastering different types of writing styles. Her works span from proses about music to singing performance reviews and lieder translations, which all serve as important reference for voice majors.
