TAIWAN'S LINEUP FOR FRENCH MUSIC FAIR

A new lineup of Taiwanese artists are set to debut in France next year as part of the Taiwan Night concert series at the world’s largest music trade fair, Marche International du Disque et de l'Edition Musicale (MIDEM).


TAIWAN'S DIGITAL EXHIBITION TO TOUR CHINA

A digital exhibition featuring the entirety of the Old Summer Palace (“Yuanmingyuan”), is scheduled to tour China in late December after a successful run at the Taipei-based National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall.


TAIWANESE FILMS SELECTED FOR 2014 BERLIN

The prestigious Berlin International Film Festival is slated to kick off next February, in which three Taiwanese films will have their world premieres at the festival’s distinctive Panorama program.


NMTL LAUNCHES ENGLISH BOOKS PROGRAM

The National Museum of Taiwan Literature and American cultural authorities have jointly launched the “American Shelf” library program, which will include book-loaning and storytelling activities.


TAIWAN TO WELCOME 2014 WITH FIREWORKS

Revelers in Taiwan will have a wide range of New Year's Eve events to choose from in the countdown to 2014, with the Taipei 101 fireworks party expected to be the biggest show.


‘2014 NEW YEAR’S CONCERT’

The New Year's Concert by the Vienna Philharmonic will be broadcast live at the Wei-Wu-Ying Center for the Arts in Kaohsiung, the Yuanlin Performance Hall in Changhua County, and the Civilian Park in Yunlin County on Jan. 1.


 THE 2013 FORMOSA SCULPTURE BIENNIAL

The 2013 Formosa Sculpture Biennial, which will be held under the theme of “What’s Ahead?” this year, will take place at Kaohsiung’s Pier-2 Art Center from Dec. 30 through March 2, 2014.


‘MASTER OF LIGHT—VERMEER’

A grand exhibition on Dutch painter Johannes Vermeer is scheduled to open in Taipei on Jan. 18. The international traveling exhibition will be the first in Taiwan to ever feature the legendary master of light.


‘DOUBLE HAPPINESS’

Starting on Jan. 18, the National Museum of History will host a special exhibition presenting the application of the Chinese character “Double Happiness,” its role in history, and related popular cultural and creative products.


‘THE OVERTURE OF NEW WAVE’

“The Overture of New Wave” exhibition in Nantou County will showcase 40 sets of jade creations made by a workshop organized by the Ministry’s National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute.
