Minister visits Stasi Museum Berlin
To learn more about Germany's experience in implementing transitional justice, Culture Minister Cheng Li-chiun visited Stasi Museum Berlin, the former Ministry for State Security of East Germany, on Nov. 24.
Minister visits Germany's railway and tech museums
To learn from Germany's experiences in heritage preservation and the cultural applications of technology, the Minister made her second and third stop at DB Museum in Nuremberg and the Deutsches Technikmuseum in Berlin on Nov. 25 and 26.
Minister hosts 20th Taiwan-France Cultural Award
The Minister then took part in hosting the awards ceremony of the 20th Taiwan-France Cultural Award held in Paris on Nov. 28, marking her first overseas engagement in cultural diplomacy since she took office earlier this year.
Minister seeks partnership with France Televisions
The Minister visited France Televisions, the French public broadcasting network, to seek out new opportunities for Taiwan's Public Television Service and Taiwan-France collaboration in television production on Nov. 29.
Minister signs accord with French cinema agency
To strengthen film exchange and collaboration between Taiwan and France, the Minister signed a cooperative agreement with Frédérique Bredin, president of the National Centre for Cinema and the Moving Image (CNC) in Paris, on Nov. 30.
Cultural Features
Armed with chisels, gouges, and a mallet, Shih Chen-yang has carved quite a name for himself in Taiwan's artisan realm. A professional wood sculptor since the age of 18, he went on to receive the 2009 National Crafts Achievement Award at the age of 64.

To ensure the continual survival of the Shangchi Tribe in Taichung, the Association was established weeks after the devastating wake of the 1999 Jiji Earthquake. Its main benefactor was none other than the decorated Atayal writer Walis Nokan.
