"Night Bus," an animated short film by director Joe Hsieh, has been selected as one of 59 short films from 26 countries in the "International Animation Short Films" program to be screened at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival scheduled for Jan. 20 to 30 next year.
Under the support of the Ministry of Culture and the Council of Indigenous Peoples, Australia's 10th Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art will be presenting "Between Earth and Sky: Indigenous Contemporary Art from Taiwan" at the Queensland Art Gallery and Gallery of Modern Art from Dec. 4 until April 25, 2022.
"Wet Networks" features artifacts and commissioned projects from "Geek Camp 2021: Neversink Never Ever" at the Watershed Gallery, Queens Museum from Oct. 30 to Jan. 30, 2022. The exhibition is supported by the Taipei Cultural Center in New York, mainly organized by the Queens Museum and presented in partnership with Rhizome and CycleX.

President Tsai attends GACC
At this year's arts and cultural gathering "kah lí tàu-tīn" hosted by the General Association of Chinese Culture (GACC), its chairperson President Tsai Ing-wen expressed in a speech that she cherished this opportunity to gather with people from cultural circles and hopes that everyone can work on pandemic prevention for the coming new year.
MOC announces winners of 41th National Cultural Award
Minister of Culture Lee Yung-te sent a telegram of condolences to three recipients of the 41st National Cultural Award on Jan. 18, including lacquer artist Wang Ching-shuang, poet Li Min-yong, conductor Lu Shao-chiain, in recognition of their outstanding performances in the fields of crafts, literature, and music.
MOC pays respect to Meinong Hakka Bayin troupe founder
MOC has proposed awarding a presidential citation posthumously to the founder of Meinong Hakka Bayin music troupe Chung Tsai-hsiang, who passed away on Jan. 7 at the age of 85, in recognition of his life-long contribution to the preservation and inheritance of Hakka Bayin music. Minister of Culture Lee Yung-te expressed his condolences and attended the memorial service on Jan. 16.

Wang Hsi-kun, the second-generation heir to Xiang Ren He Drum Art Workshop, is a drum-maker and national treasure. Building on the foundation set down by his father, Wang has learned through years of hard work and experimentation and ultimately built Xiang Ren He back to its former glory and even beyond, onto the international stage.

Poetry and photography have been companions for Tzeng Chin-fa for over half a century. When he was young, he sacrificed his literary aspirations to make a living in business, once again putting pen to paper at the age of 50. To find the right photos to go with his poems, he found a teacher to instruct him in photography, never expecting to become a regular winner of international photography competitions.
