Kuo Ching-chih was born in 1939 in Dajia, Taichung. His early works, characterized by a realistic style, won numerous awards in domestic art competitions, making a name for himself in the field of sculpture. In 1994, Kuo was invited to Japan to participate in the Asian Modern Sculpture Outdoor Exhibition with his work "Gate of Saha" and received high praise from the local newspaper.
The Taiwan Pineapple Museum is the only remaining canned pineapple industrial building from the Japanese occupation of Taiwan. Taiwan is a kingdom of fruits, and pineapple is one of its representatives. For a period of time after World War II, Taiwan was the world champion of canned pineapple production, and the foundation was laid during the Japanese occupation.
