Yunlin County's "Liufangma Guolu" festival, which has been celebrated for over three centuries, has been registered by the Ministry of Culture as an important folk custom, and May 27, which corresponds to April 13 on the traditional lunar calendar, is now officially known as Guolu Celebration Day.
The latest exhibition at the National Museum of Taiwan Literature is built around the issue of transitional justice for Taiwan's indigenous peoples, bringing together storytelling and song to cover the themes of land rights, languages and cultures, semantics of names, subversion of history, and inheritance of songs.
