ART BANK HEADQUARTERS IN TAICHUNG

The headquarters of the national Art Bank project, which is dedicated to helping young Taiwanese artists gain more exposure, was officially inaugurated on April 13 at the central Taiwanese city of Taichung.


NATIONAL POETRY PROGRAM INITIATED

To make use of funds generously donated by Taiwanese business tycoon Scott Ouyoung, the Ministry of Culture has launched a three-year program aimed at strengthening the development of poetry in Taiwan.


NATIONAL COMMUNITY PRESS AWARDS

The competition was established to recognize the role of Taiwan's 370 different community papers and publications and their contributions to Taiwan’s culture at the grassroots level.


TAIWAN-MALAYSIA LITERARY TIES

As part of the Ministry's Emerald Initiative, a collection of short stories written by Taiwanese and Malaysian writers was officially launched at a literary exchange forum held in eastern Taiwan on April 12.


TAIWAN DOCUMENTARY FESTIVAL: CALL FOR ENTRIES

The annual Taiwan International Documentary Festival (TIDF), one of the top professional platforms in Asia for documentaries, will accept entries from today until May 30, 2014.


'NATIONAL MEMORY' FORUMS IN HSINCHU

To promote the National Memory Database initiative, the National Hsinchu Living Arts Center will organize six forums between April and May to teach audiences how to narrate and record their stories in a systematic manner.


'WEEKEND GREEN MARKET' AT TAIPEI

The National Taiwan Museum has invited eco-conscious organizations to set up a “green” market of 60 booths over the April 19-20 weekend to encourage sustainable consumption ahead of Earth Day.


'CELEBRATING PINGTUNG'S HERITAGE' AT THE NMTH

To promote the history of Pingtung County, the Tainan-based National Museum of Taiwan History will hold a series of literary activities and documentary screenings over the April 19-20 weekend.


'INTERNATIONAL MUSEUM DAY' IN TAINAN

To mark the upcoming International Museum Day, which falls on May 18, the National Museum of Taiwan Literature in Tainan will hold a series of events to help the public discover the beauty of literature.


'MY GENERATION, MY DESIGN'

To celebrate Taiwanese visual artist Yu Ming-lung’s three-decade-long career, the National Museum of History will host an exhibition titled “My Generation, My Design” from April 12 through May 4 in Taipei City.
