Human rights film festival kicks off in Taipei

Music competition announces mother-tongue nominees
The Taiwan Composition and Songwriting Contest has announced its 2018 nominations for original works in the Hokkien, Hakka, and indigenous languages. The finale will be held in Taipei on Aug. 26, with 30 live performances by the nominated artists.

The Tainaner Ensemble is one of the oldest and most established modern theaters in Taiwan's southern city of Tainan. The troupe has enriched the theater scene in southern Taiwan with experimental productions and talent incubation programs.
