The Taiwan Cultural Center in Tokyo, in collaboration with Waseda University and its Tsubouchi Memorial Theater Museum, is hosting Taiwanese Puppetry Culture Month from July 3 to Aug. 2 to introduce the art form to Japanese audiences.
The Taiwan Academy in the U.S., in collaboration with IA&A at Hillyer, is presenting the virtual reality (VR) exhibition “Ubiquitous Ghosts: Tao Ya-lun” in Washington, D.C., from July 4 to Aug. 2.
The Taiwan Academy of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Los Angeles, in partnership with Louisa Coffee USA, is hosting the joint exhibition “The Great Mother’s Dream: Metamorphosis as Power and Wisdom” from May 12 to Aug. 17.

Following the Executive Yuan’s official recognition of the Siraya as Taiwan’s 17th Indigenous group on July 30, the National Museum of Taiwan History (NMTH) will host guided tours of its permanent exhibition on Indigenous Plains peoples.

The National Center for Traditional Arts (NCFTA) held the plaque unveiling ceremony for the Taiwanese Opera Center on July 30, marking the start of a new phase in the establishment of a specialized base for Taiwanese opera in Kaohsiung City.

The National Museum of Modern Art Tainan (MOMA Tainan) opened “Alphonse Mucha: The Artist as Visionary” on June 25, inviting visitors to revisit the Belle Époque, or “Beautiful Era,” through the 156 original works by the Czech artist.

Wang, a self-proclaimed “omni-researcher,” was a travel writer who became a significant cultural figure in Taiwan for his passion and extensive knowledge across a wide range of disciplines. Born in Nantou in 1956, he graduated from National Cheng Kung University with a degree in mathematics.

Tainan Film Studio was originally home to the sugar factory from which it takes its name. This factory was established in 1903 by Tainan sugar merchant Wang Xuenong and a group of other industrialists as a new type of sugar factory under the name of Ensuiko Sugar Refining.
