NEW ECO-PARK IN CENTRAL TAIWAN

Tasked with the twin objectives of promoting artistic creation and environmental protection, the Jou Jou Mountain Art and Ecological Park was inaugurated in central Taiwan's Nantou County on Aug. 25.


UBC UNVEILS TAIWANESE EVENT SERIES

As part of the Ministry’s Spotlight Taiwan global initiative, the Museum of Anthropology (MOA) of the University of British Columbia will kick off a series of Taiwan-centered events starting this fall semester.


NEW ZEALAND NAMED THEME OF 2015 TIBE

The 2015 Taipei International Book Exhibition will feature New Zealand as its theme country, and the Taipei Book Fair Foundation will work to bring the Oceanic nation's literature and culture to Taiwanese readers.


FUKUOKA FILM FESTIVAL TO SCREEN 8 TW MOVIES

The 2014 Fukuoka “Focus on Asia” International Film Festival is scheduled to kick off in Japan during mid-September and eight Taiwanese films will be screened during the weeklong event.


RAINBOW INITIATIVE: 2014 OPEN CALL

The Ministry is seeking to subsidize multinational and multi-disciplinary collaborative cultural projects by offering funding in amounts between NT$3 million and NT$10 million. Applications will be accepted until Sept. 1.


'INTERNATIONAL FORUM ON NATURAL DYES'

To help usher traditional craftsmanship into a new era, the National Taiwan Crafts and Research Institute (NTCRI) will hold an international forum on the future development of natural dyes in central Taiwan this October.


'2014 DIGITAL PERFORMING ARTS FESTIVAL'

The fourth edition of the Digital Performing Arts Festival, Taiwan’s premier showcase of mixed media and innovation in the performing arts, will take place from Oct. 24 through Nov. 16 at selected cities across the nation.


'2014 WEI-WU-YING ARTS FESTIVAL'

A total of ten groups, including bands from the United Kingdom, Hong Kong, and South Korea, will help promote the performing arts in southern Taiwan at the 2014 Wei-Wu-Ying Arts Festival that will run from Oct. 7 to Nov. 22.


'CHANG DAI-CHIEN MEMORIAL EXHIBITION'

The 30th anniversary of the death of prodigious painter and savant Chang Dai-chien will be commemorated in a memorial exhibition held by the National Museum of History between Sept. 5 and Nov. 23.


'MIGRATION STORIES IN TAIWAN'

To explore the cultural impact triggered by historic waves of migration to Taiwan, the National Museum of Taiwan History has organized a special exhibition that will run from Aug. 27 to March 29, 2015.
