Vouchers for arts consumption launching July 15
Taiwan's Executive Yuan will launch its Triple Stimulus Vouchers on July 15, aimed at creating over a trillion dollars in value. The Ministry of Culture's voucher program, which stands at NT$1.2 billion, hopes to contribute a further NT$5 billion to this and entice cultural transactions.
Writer Liu Ka-shiang to head CNA for another term
As the supervisory body of Taiwan's Central News Agency, the Ministry of Culture announced on June 24 that while the current chairman Liu Ka-shiang will carry on leading the agency, a list of candidates for CNA's new board has been submitted for review.

Taipei stages exhibition on HK protest art
A special exhibition in support of the Hong Kong protests is now taking place at the Taipei-based Taiwan Comic Base through July 26. "Rebellious Brushes" features over 100 artworks, posters, and memorabilia by 66 creators from HK, Taiwan, and South Korea.

The late Yang Mu is a towering figure in Taiwanese literature who left behind a significant body of poems, proses, and critiques. His works have been translated into Dutch, English, French, German, Japanese, Korean, and Swedish, among other languages.

Yang Mu was described by Göran Malmqvist, former selection committee member for the Nobel Prize in Literature and a translator of Yang's works, as the Taiwanese poet who came closest to winning the prestigious award. "To him, there are no short cuts to true scholarship."
