NEIMEN BUDDHA TOUR RECEIVES CERTIFICATION

“Greeting Buddha at the Gate of Arhats,” the annual Guanyin Buddha procession in Kaohsiung’s Neimen District, has been designated as an intangible national folk custom. It is the first certified folk custom based in Kaohsiung.


NTM JOINS SE ASIAN BOOK-COLLECTION PROGRAM

The National Taiwan Museum has announced its participation in the “Southeast Asian-language Book Collection Station” program. It is the first public museum in Taiwan to join the “SEA Book Collection” program.


NY ORGANIZES  TSAI MING-LIANG RETROSPECTIVE

The New York-based Museum of the Moving Image has teamed up with the NY Taipei Cultural Center to present a conclusive screening of 13 feature productions by Taiwan-based, Malaysian-born filmmaker Tsai Ming-liang.


USC TO SCREEN TAIWANESE DOCUMENTARIES

A trio of documentaries produced by Taiwanese filmmaker Ko Chin-yuan will be screened by the University of South California (USC) on April 16 and 18 to help raise awareness for the ecological dangers imposed by over-development.


AMIS CULTURAL EXPERIENCE IN LA

Taiwanese indigenous culture will be highlighted in a special talk organized by the Taiwan Academy in Los Angeles. Dancer Olivia Tsuyin Liou will discuss Amis culture, festivals, and dance in the day-long program on April 11.


'TAIWAN WEEK' CONCLUDES AT U. OF LONDON

The University of London has successfully organized its first-ever “Taiwan Week” event series as part of the Spotlight Taiwan project. The week-long series offered performances and exhibitions on Taiwan's sound artists.


'TECHNOLOGY & TRADITIONAL CRAFTS'

An exhibition exploring the innovation and craftsmanship of Taiwanese temples, traditionally the platform for showcasing the handiwork of artisans, will be held at the National Center for Traditional Arts in Yilan through June 30.


'ERA OF SELF-AWAKENING'

An oil painting exhibition featuring portraits of Chiang Wei-shui, one of Taiwan’s pioneering cultural and political activists, will open to the public at the National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall in Taipei from April 11 to 26.


'THE GATE OF MEMORIES'

The Art Bank operated by the Ministry of Culture has organized its second exhibition of 2015 — titled “The Gate of Memories: Memories from Childhood and Growing Up” — at its headquarters in Taichung City.


'TYPEMOTION: TYPE AS IMAGE IN MOTION'

“TYPEMOTION,” an international traveling exhibition featuring 159 outstanding examples of text and typography being used in motion, will be shown at the Taichung-based National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts until June 7, 2015.
