Israel to be guest of honor at 2018 Taipei book expo
The Taipei International Book Exhibition will return for its 26th edition from Feb. 6 through 11. As 2018 marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of Israel, the expo will offer insights into the historic and contemporary developments of Israel.
Students visit Kaohsiung for world-class auditory tour
Music students from elementary schools visited the newly constructed National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts to experience outstanding theater sound design on Dec. 29. The Center will open in October as the largest theater for performances in Taiwan.

Cheng Ching-wen was one of the first-generation Taiwanese writers of the post-WWII era and a leading figure in the New Taiwan Literature Movement. He is remembered for his warmth and writing style, which often portrayed human nature and celebrated universal values.

Rina Tsou, a Taipei-based filmmaker who embodies both Taiwanese and Filipino cultures, aspires to deepen mutual understanding between Taiwan and the Philippines through films. Her 2016 short film 'Arnie' was highlighted by the International Critics' Week at Cannes.
