TAIWANESE ARTIST IN SHEFFIELD

Taiwan’s Wu Chi-tsung has taken the third leg of his solo exhibition tour across the United Kingdom to Sheffield. The exhibition opens on April 4 at the Site Gallery to showcase “Dust,” the final portion of his “Recalibrate” series.


HOUSTON TO SALUTE TAIWANESE FILMMAKERS

This year’s World Fest-Houston, an international film festival dedicated to the independent filmmaker, will launch a special program titled “Salute to Taiwan” and showcase three award-winning films from Taiwan.


CALLIGRAPHY-INSPIRED DANCE IN SAN ANTONIO

Assembly Dance Theatre will hold a performance and workshop in Texas. The free event is made possible by the collaboration between the Taiwan Academy in Houston and the East Asia Institute of the UTSA.


CULTURAL SALON SERIES  AT THE FOYER

To help bolster Taiwan’s participation and contribution to the international community, the Ministry of Culture has chosen The Foyer at Huashan 1914 Creative Park as the host venue for its upcoming cultural salon series.


TAIWAN’S INDIGENOUS CRAFTS IN JAPAN

A symposium on Taiwan’s indigenous crafts took place on March 30 in Japan as part of the Spotlight Taiwan program. The cultural exchange event at Osaka featured award-winning artisans Yuma Taru, Baunay Watan, and Lavaus.


INTERNATIONAL RESIDENCY EXCHANGE PROGRAM

An overseas residency exchange program launched by the Ministry of Culture will help send 24 Taiwanese artists and writers to 13 art villages in the United States, Germany, France, Spain, the Czech Republic, and Australia.


LATE ALTRUISTIC DOCTOR HONORED

The Executive Yuan has approved an application for a presidential citation applied by the Ministry of Culture in recognition of the contributions made by the late doctor Wang King-ho, the selfless “Healer of Blackfoot Disease.”


‘FIBERS ILLUSION’ FEATURING VISITING THAI ARTIST

As part of the Ministry’s Emerald Initiative, an international partnership program with Southeast Asia, Thai artist Namfon Laistrooglai will showcase her textile works in Taiwan from March 22 through April 27.


‘TAIWANESE SCULPTURE ACROSS GENERATIONS’

The Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall will co-organize an exhibition on 12 sculptors of different generations with the Taiwan Sculpture Society to review the past, current, and future development of the art form in Taiwan.


'WWMLGC'

Over 103 pieces of artwork made by local university instructors will be featured at an exhibition focusing on craft creation and design at the Taichung Cultural and Creative Industries Park.
