CREATIVE EXPO TAIWAN TO KICK OFF END OF APRIL

The 2015 Creative Expo Taiwan, which will take place from April 29 to May 4, has expanded its scope to historical and cultural spaces in Taipei, aiming to incorporate the urban landscape into the expo experience.


WRITERS SHARE STORIES AT MONTHLY STORY SALON

Established writers Liu Ka-shiang and Chang Show-foong joined a group of volunteers to share their personal stories in a Story Salon event held by the National Memories Database project at the Qidong Poetry Salon on April 12.


A CAPPELLA GROUP TO PERFORM IN LA

The Voco Novo A Cappella group will hold master classes and campus concerts in Los Angeles from April 20 to 24. Their four-day California tour will end with a ticketed performance at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium.


FEMALE TAIWANESE DIRECTORS CELEBRATED IN NY

A film festival highlighting the works by five Taiwanese contemporary female filmmakers is currently underway at the New York Public Library. The festival co-organized by the Michigan State University will run until May 1.


'2015 TIDF TOUR'

The annual Taiwan International Documentary Festival (TIDF) island-wide tour is set to screen award-winning films from the festival’s competitions, productions by featured directors, and selected ones from different programs.


'IMAGINARY VOYAGE — ODYSSEY'S LOG BOOK'

The National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts will be hosting “Tai Chi-hsien: Imaginary Voyage — Odyssey’s Log Book,” a winning submission from the museum’s 2015 Digital Art Creation Competition, through June 21.


'TREASURE MAP: THE FOLK IMAGES IN TAIWAN'

“Treasure Map: The Folk Images in Taiwan,” an exhibition offering a modern interpretation of traditional folk symbols, will be available at the Nantou-based National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute through Oct. 18, 2015.


'THE HIDDEN ME: SELF-PORTRAITS'

“The Hidden Me: Self-Portraits” exhibition in Taichung will display portraits from its collection and host a handful of on-site installations by young artists, providing visitors with an opportunity to watch, inspect, and re-define themselves.


'REGION/HELL, FAIRYLAND/HEAVEN'

Art Stock 20, an art village in Taichung City, is presenting a joint exhibition of its resident artists this year. The exhibited artworks range from paintings, installations, and ceramic sculptures to live performances.


'THE INHERITANCE OF CRAFTSMANSHIP V'

The National Center for Traditional Arts has organized the fifth edition of “The Inheritance of Craftsmanship” exhibition series to showcase three families who have devoted several generations to the art of Buddha statues.
