Traditional Golden Melodies honor nominees
The creators behind the 91 entries shortlisted by the 30th Golden Melody Awards for Traditional Arts and Music were given a special reception on July 20. The final winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on Aug. 10.
A total of 30 musical works from 215 submissions will compete live at the 2019 Taiwan Music Composition and Songwriting Contest, which promotes the creation of original music in native languages.
Golden Comic Awards nominations announced
24 outstanding works are shortlisted for the 10th Golden Comic Awards. The Special Contribution Award will be given to "Master of Wuxia" You Long-hui, and the remaining winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on Sept. 25.
Evan Huang: Cross 35th Art Exhibition
The Taiwan Comic Base is exhibiting some 80 original drawings by Taiwanese artist Evan Huang, along with animations, theme songs, augmented reality (AR) experiences, and holographic projections of scenes from his comics.

Li Lung-chieh is a Taiwanese artist who captured the Comic of the Year title with "1661 Koxinga Z" at last year's Golden Comic Awards by reimagining Taiwan's history from the Dutch colonial era to the arrival of Koxinga.
