TAIWAN WEEK IN MACAU

Organized by the Kwang Hwa Information and Culture Centre, a festival introducing Taiwan’s diverse culture will open on June 18 at the Casa Memorativa Sun Yat Sen, the former residence of Dr. Sun in Macau.


2015 LINEUP FOR THE OFF FESTIVAL D'AVIGNON

Representing Taiwan at this year's OFF Festival d'Avignon, the oldest extant festival in France, are: In Theatre, Horse Dance Theatre, 8213 Physical Dance Theatre, Langasan Theatre, and Riverbed Theatre.


TAIWANESE MUSIC TO JOIN NY SEMINAR

Two Taiwanese music promotion companies — Neutron Innovation and THE WALL MUSIC — will be participating in the upcoming New Music Seminar, New York's answer to France's MIDEM.


'TAIWAN INTERNATIONAL MUSIC FESTIVAL'

Held to support both preservation and innovation in traditional music, the 2015 Taiwan International Music Festival, the first comprehensive government-organized music festival in Taiwan, will take place from July 11 to 15.


'TRANSFORMATIONS IN 1895'

To mark the 120th anniversary of the Japanese Conquest of Taiwan, the NMTH has organized an exhibition to introduce how people with different cultural backgrounds and socioeconomic positions viewed the era of 1895.


'LADIES TEXTILES OF THE QING DYNASTY'

In celebration of the 60th anniversary of the National Museum of History's establishment, the museum will hold a special exhibition detailing the aesthetics held by women who lived in the imperial Qing Dynasty.


'FEMALE POETS, SINGING VERSES'

To celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival, also known as Poet’s Day to commemorate the patriotic poet Qu Yuan, the NMTL will organize a series of activities to introduce contemporary Taiwanese female poets and their works.


'YOUR CLOSED EYES MY EXTINCTION'

A joint exhibition featuring nine Taiwanese artists and their take on gender-related issues will take place at the Taichung-based National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts from June 6 through Aug. 16.


TAIWAN LITERATURE TOOLKIT NOW ONLINE

The Ministry of Culture has officially launched the Taiwan Literature Toolkit, a bilingual website designed to introduce Taiwan’s rich and diverse literary heritage, for readers at home and abroad on June 15.


TAIWAN CULTURAL CENTER IN TOKYO OPENS IT DOORS

The Taiwan Cultural Center in Tokyo opened its new doors at an uptown section of Tokyo on June 12, marking its fifth-year anniversary of establishment in Japan and the start of the 2015 Taiwan Culture Week.
