THEATER ICON RECEIVES PRESIDENTIAL CITATION

A presidential citation has been issued to late Taiwanese theater director and actor Hugh Lee in recognition of his contributions to the performing arts in Taiwan.

The National Museum of Taiwan Literature (NMTL) will host a series of lectures featuring eight Taiwanese writers from July 6 through Aug. 24 in southern Taiwan.

“Withered Childhood,” a solo photography exhibition by Taiwanese stylist Wu Pei-han, will be held at the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall from July 20 to Aug. 4.

Renowned cartoonist Liu Hsing-chin will hold a special illustration, titled “Sharing Memories & Connecting Generations,” from July 9 through Sept. 1 in Tainan.

As part of its 40th anniversary celebrations this year, Cloud Gate Dance Theatre will hold free outdoor performances across Taiwan throughout the month of July.


‘THE 2013 COMIC EXHIBITION’

The 2013 Comic Exhibition, which will feature Taiwanese and Japanese graphic artists, voice actors and light novelists, will take place in Taipei from Aug. 15 to 20.
