In-person and virtual Art Taipei to kick off on Oct. 22

The Taiwan Art Gallery Association (TAGA) will launch the "ART TAIPEI (台北國際藝術博覽會)" fair online and offline, featuring 4,000 contemporary artworks from 124 Taiwan and international exhibitors, and holding art lectures, art salons, and a TAERC Forum (台北藝術產業論壇) for collectors and viewers. In light of the pandemic, the fair has created a new exhibition model, such as online viewing rooms, and an AT Remote exhibition area.

This year, 92 local and 32 overseas galleries will attend the physical exhibition, which will take place at the Taipei World Trade Center Exhibition from Oct. 22 to 25. The fair has specially launched the AT Remote exhibition area to provide services such as video chatting, unpacking inspection, and emergency repair for overseas exhibitors.

In response to the global trend of online and offline exhibitions addition, the two online viewing rooms will be on display from Oct. 22 to Nov. 5. The organizer has partnered with the online marketplace Artsy to present an online viewing room, where 89 exhibitors will serve the international and English-speaking collectors; For Mandarin-speaking collectors, it has teamed up with the art news website Art Emperor to offer an online viewing experience with 77 galleries attending.

Additionally, the ART TAIPEI has also collaborated with the NFT curating and management platform EchoX to launch a virtual gallery, featuring exhibits from Taiwan's galleries such as Dynasty Gallery and Chini Gallery.

With 30 percent more exhibitors present this year, the fair brings together emerging, mid-career and well-established artists from around the world. Celebrated artists include Yeh Shih-chiang (葉世強) by Hanart TZ Gallery, Xue Song (薛松) by Loftyart Gallery, Han Li-kun (韓黎坤) by Chuan Cheng Art Center, and Chien Yu-jen (簡佑任) by MIT x Mind Set Art Center, and so on.

Organized by TAGA, the ART TAIPEI has been the landmark of the International Contemporary Art Fair in the Asia-Pacific region since 1992, focusing on 20th and 21st-century artworks.
