Taiwan-French cultural workshop returns to explore Cultural Assets for All

Revolving around the theme of "Les Biens Culturels Pour Tous (Cultural Assets for All)," the workshop "tfatelier (臺法文化工作坊)" sponsored by the Ministry of Culture as part of a collaboration with the Bureau Français de Taipei (BFT), will take place online from Oct. 28 to 29 after a year's delay due to the pandemic.

During the two-day workshop, MOC and BFT will invite officials from departments related to historical sites within the French Ministry of Culture, as well as representatives of French art venues that are renowned for revitalizing historical buildings to share and dialogue with experts and scholars from Taiwan's government and industries. The workshop will also provide simultaneous interpretation in Chinese and French.

Participants in the events will receive a limited edition of exquisite cultural and creative souvenirs. Those who perform well will have the opportunity to go to well-known institutions or museums in France as part of a three-week internship.

The four French experts and scholars from the French Ministry of Culture invited by the workshop will include Pascal Mignerey, Franz Schoenstein, Jean-Christophe Levassor, and Bruno Gaudichon.

Speakers from Taiwan will include Wang Wei-chou (王維周) from the National Development Initiatives Institute, architecture professor at Ming Chuan University Wang Jieh-jiuh (王价巨), architect Chang Yu-huang (張玉璜), director of the Daxi Wood Art Ecomuseum Chen Qian-hui (陳倩慧), commissioner of the Taipei City Government Department of Economic Development Lin Chung-chieh (林崇傑), director of the Bureau of Cultural Heritage Chen Chi-ming (陳濟民) and division chief at the Bureau of Cultural Heritage (BOCH) Zhang You-chuang (張祐創).

The event is open for registration from now until October 22. Workers and professionals who work in institutions and fields related to assets preservation are welcome to join the workshop. For more information and registration, please visit here.
