Cultural festival TAIWAN PLUS to take place in Kyoto

Organized by the General Association of Chinese Culture (GACC), “TAIWAN PLUS,” the largest Taiwanese cultural festival in Japan, is scheduled to take place in Kyoto on May 11 and 12. Titled “Kyoto Formosa (京都新寶島),” the festival will feature over 100 brands, marking the highest number of exhibitors to date.

Frank Hsieh (謝長廷), the Representative of Taiwan to Japan, expressed gratitude for the support of the Kyoto Prefectural Assembly for this event. He emphasized that through this iconic cultural festival, the organizer aspires to further develop cultural exchanges between Taiwan and Japan.

Lee Hou-ching (李厚慶), the Secretary-General of GACC, noted that “TAIWAN PLUS” has seen a significant increase in visitors over the years, rising from 55,000 visitors in 2018 to 220,000 visitors in 2023. He stated that this increase shows mutual understanding between Taiwan and Japan to appreciate each other’s cultures.
