"Anonymity," a concert narrated by essayist-novelist Hu Ching-fang (胡晴舫) and accompanied by live chamber music, will take place in Hong Kong on March 9 as part of the University of Hong Kong's "Listening Between the Lines" series.
Hu, who is also credited as C.F. Hu and Lolita Hu, explores through writings the urban life in ever-expanding cities, cultural identities in an increasingly globalized world, and the unavoidable solitary fate of the modern human being. She captured a Golden Tripod Award for best literary publication with "The Third Person (第三人)," and served as director of the Ministry of Culture's Kwang Hwa Information and Culture Center from 2016 to 2018.
The upcoming concert is named after her 2017 release "Anonymity (無名者)," a gentle prose collection of urban observations, social criticism, and personal memories that opens with the line "Take a look at the starry sky on a cloudless night, and you will understand the meaning of literature."

"Anonymity" as a concert was first created as a collaboration between Hu and Taiwan's National Symphony Orchestra (better known as Taiwan Philharmonic to international audiences).
