Taiwanese contemporary dance group B.DANCE (丞舞製作團隊), invited to perform at the Sibiu International Theater Festival (FITS), is set to premiere their dance piece “Alice,” an adaptation from the literary classic “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland,”  in Romania.

B.DANCE will stage two performances at the Ion Luca Caragiale National Theater in Bucharest on June 20 and 21, followed by two more performances at the Ion Besoiu Cultural Center in Sibiu on June 24 and 25.

Sibiu is a city located in Central Romania with a population of less than two hundred thousand population. Aiming to showcase the city’s cultural vitality, it inaugurated the FITS in 1994 and was selected as the first European Capital of Culture in Romania in 2007. The FITS is now recognized as the third-largest theater festival in Europe.

“Alice” is a choreography born from the international collaboration between Tsai Po-cheng’s B.DANCE and Kathleen McNurney’s Tanz Luzerner Theater, reimagining the classic work of children’s literature as a fantasy world where wonder meets the artistry of Zen.
