National Symphony Orchestra wraps up European tour with dazzling show in Paris

The National Symphony Orchestra (NSO) concluded its European tour at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, Paris, on Apr. 13. The tour, which started on Apr. 3, took place in Switzerland, Germany, and France successively, showcasing Taiwan’s unique culture through music.

 

During the event, Deputy Culture Minister Lee Ching-hwi (李靜慧) emphasized that the Ministry of Culture (MOC) has been implementing various policies to support Taiwanese artists in performing overseas and engaging with international communities. She highlighted that “Tao of Meinong (美濃之道),” a composition by Taiwanese composer Li Yuan-chen (李元貞) incorporating elements of Taiwanese Hakka music, captivated European audiences during the tour.

 

Hu Ching-fang (胡晴舫), director of the Taiwan Cultural Center in Paris, said that the NSO conveyed a message of global peace through music and cultural exchange. She commended the NSO for their brilliant performances, which she described as emblematic of the essence of humanity.
