This year, the Taiwan Cultural Center in Paris collaborated with le Festival OVNi Objectif Vidéo Nice to invite Taiwanese artist Lin Chi-wei (林其蔚), who is currently living abroad in France, to participate in the 3-day "OVNi in the hotel" event with his art piece "Tape Music (磁帶音樂)."

The artist presented seven polychrome sheets designed with colored inks, with coils of mahogany, a black thorn and golden ribbons, and screened a work which was produced in 2019 at the Artwave Festival. This recorded work was produced by a team of volunteers led by renowned Japanese avant-garde musician Tomomi Adachi, who managed to combine an intricately woven collective spirit with the free expression of individuals, at the same time presenting a highly disciplined choreography with a wild spontaneous performance. Japanese words were superimposed on the original composition, making Lin Chi-wei's "Tape Music" series of recordings an outstanding presentation.

Lin Chi-wei's audio art pieces have been produced in many countries in recent years, with over 200 performances. They combine bodily movements and performance art to explore the limits of the senses and consciousness, and attempt to develop new models of perception. His "Tape Music" series has been presented in primary schools, factories, temples, churches, town halls, training workshops, homes, bars and other non-artistic spaces, with active audience participation.

Every year, at the end of November, OVNi brings together a number of cultural players from Nice and across the world to participate in its events and shine a spotlight on emerging video artists and established video makers.
