Observing issues of scattered cultural resources, scarcity of online resources and services for culture related institutes, and repetitively similar databases, the Ministry has set out a plan to catalogue and integrate the websites and databases of all cultural institutes via cloud computing, and present the data as open resources for private entities.

The core concept of Culture Cloud is based on the integration of "Cultural Resource + Mobile Accessibility + Shareability," with cultural resource serving as the foundation. The digital cultural resources of art and cultural institutes will be inventoried and integrated on Culture Cloud, as a cross-agency platform for better efficacy of cultural businesses, and the resource agency will be inputting the data and resources to provide the latest, most accurate and thorough information to the public. Culture Cloud will include art and cultural activities, cultural artifacts collection, audiovisual library, open data, award subsidies, and grants.

1. iCulture

iCulture integrates public and private systems regarding cultural facilities, art and cultural events, cultural attractions and street performers, providing the public with localized services. So far over 100 websites have been interfaced, containing 280,000 data of art and cultural events and over 11,000 data of cultural facilities have been provided, and have reached over 21.4 million views.

2. iCollection

iCollection was established as a cultural artifacts collection management system and the Ministry of Culture Collections website as an integrated interface for the public, accumulating more than 870,000 data of which over 590,000 of them are open to the public for browsing and has reached over 652 million views. The implementation abides by the Museum Act in the design and creation of the official system, for use by public and private museums, promoting the value-added use of cultural artifacts.

3. iMedia

iMedia was built as an integrated audiovisual data platform, which has been introduced to agencies such as NTSO, NCFTA, Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, NTMFA, NMH, National Museum of Taiwan Literature, NTCRDI, Human Rights Museum, BCH, Hsinchu Living Arts Center, Taitung Living Art Center, National Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall, National Center of Photography, and Tainan Living Art Center. Services of one-end management and independent utilization are provided to those introduced by iMedia, and can be ported with existing websites such as online collection sites, official sites or themed sites. Besides the functions abovementioned, it allows browsers to share to the SNS platforms for broader enjoyment capacity meanwhile gradually completes the audiovisual database of the ministry.

4. iEvent

A management and registration system for art and cultural events is built (referred to as Artistic and Cultural Activities Platform) in order to provide latest and correct information of events when it comes to different agencies' workflows, and help promote the events along with payment, venue hire, tour booking services; it accepts a great variety of payment methods that hugely benefits people with the convenience. Heretofore there are 18 agencies of this ministry, 2 cultural venues, 4 local governments and their subordinate agencies have introduced iEvent, and will expand to relevant agencies across the country in providing latest and detail event information for more participations.

5. Open Data

Established Open Data Service of MOC that provides data in open formats to the public, other public departments or private agencies for better usage and benefit. The number of open data input has reached 379 pieces, the data source comprises private activities and ticketing websites such as Era Ticket, Kham, Arts Ticket, and the government websites such as the Ministry and its subordinate agencies, the Ministry of Education, and the cultural affairs bureaus of all local governments; the number of the usages and the projects interfaced have reached 7.57 million and over 2.6 billion respectively. In the future, the ministry will continue inventorying and the number of data shall increase, meanwhile, improve the quality and accuracy of data for better and broader services.

6. Award and Grant Management System

The award and grant management system allows the ministry and its subordinate agencies to deliver tasks relating to grant funding projects. All sectors of the ministry, Mongolian and Tibetan Cultural Center and its subordinate agencies have introduced this integrated system as a one-stop bilateral interface that allows cross-agency validation, improves the data openness and efficacy, in doing so, it is expected to better picture the distribution of awards and grants. There are approximately 130 awards and grants, and 8,500 applications to be scrutinized per annum; the ministry will optimize the statistic and analysis on data of the performance of awarded/ granted initiates as the reference for decision-making in the future.
