MOC teams up with subsidiaries of National Performing Arts Center to launch 'Arts Fun Theatre'

The Ministry of Culture (MOC) has teamed up with its affiliated institutions - National Theater and Concert Hall (NTCH), National Taichung Theater (NTT), and National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts (Weiwuying) – to launch a virtual "Arts Fun Theatre (藝Fun劇場)," screening six classic film works every weekend starting from July 10.

The programs include musical, dance, traditional opera, modern drama film, puppet shows, family shows and others.

MOC lauded the abundant creative energy of Taiwanese artists as well as the vibrant performing arts in Taiwan, and pointed out that, in support of the cultural and arts industry during the pandemic, Taiwanese performing arts group TAIWAN TOP along with other performing troupes are invited to participate in the program by providing shows that are interesting and representative of their brands. Through this program, MOC hopes to incorporate performing arts into the daily lives of the public and maintain the habit and enthusiasm of watching performances.

"Art Fun Theatre" will be streamed on YouTube every Saturday and Sunday at 2:30 pm and 7:30pm, from July 10 to August 29. As a reminder, MOC said that viewers should abide by the relevant copyright regulations, so as to protect and support Taiwan’s cultural and arts sector.

The first session will be launched on July 10 and 11, with titles including "The Adventure of Spiders - Fly, Fly, Fly (史派德奇遇記之《飛飛飛》)" by Dance Forum, "Barbershop (從理髮廳走出來的拉縴人)" by Taipei Male Choir, "Musical (傾城記)" by C Musical, "Utopiazoo (天堂動物園)" by Flying Group Theatre, "The Apocalypse of Darkness Warfare (冥戰錄)" by Ming Hwa Yuan, and "The Mystery of Heroes (俠女英雄傳)" by Shinrtun Taiwanese Opera Troupe.

In addition, the National Performing Arts Center has also launched the "2021 Art Show" project which will be carried out in two stages. The open call will accept proposals up until July 31.
