The Mongolian and Tibetan Cultural Center is composed of three divisions. Its functions include the following:
- Planning and amending laws governing Mongolian and Tibetan cultural affairs;
- Organizing cultural exchanges and partnerships among Taiwan and Mongolian and Tibetan communities;
- Incubating talent for Mongolian and Tibetan affairs, and assisting and cultivating Mongolian and Tibetan personnel;
- Planning, organizing, promoting, rewarding, and pushing for policies governing the preservation and development of Mongolian and Tibetan cultures;
- Managing exhibitions on Mongolian and Tibetan cultures and striving for the preservation of related historical documents and artifacts;
- Supervising Mongolian and Tibetan cultural foundations;
- Handling all other affairs related to Mongolian and Tibetan cultures.
History
Predecessor: Mongolian & Tibetan Affairs Commission
The predecessor of the Mongolian and Tibetan Cultural Center was the Mongolian and Tibetan Affairs Commission, which also previously operated as the Mongolian and Tibetan Affairs Division of the Ministry of the Interior; Mongolian and Tibetan Bureau; and Mongolian and Tibetan Yuan.
The Mongolian and Tibetan Affairs Commission was established in 1928 under the Executive Yuan to oversee Mongolian and Tibetan affairs.
In accordance to structural reorganization spearheaded by the Executive Yuan in 2017, the Ministry of Culture established the Mongolian and Tibetan Cultural Center to carry on the duties of the now-defunct Mongolian and Tibetan Affairs Commission.

Organizational Structure
Mongolian and Tibetan Cultural Center consists of the General Affairs Division, Mongolian Affairs Division, and Tibetan Affairs Division.
What We Do
- Promote Mongolian and Tibetan cultures: By holding arts and cultural events to celebrate and preserve Mongolian and Tibetan cultures.
- Care for unprivileged Mongolian and Tibetan groups: By rendering care and guidance to Mongolian and Tibetan people living in Taiwan, helping them adapt to life in Taiwan, and providing assistance via national social welfare networks.
- Spearhead cultural exchanges among Taiwan and Mongolian and Tibetan communities: By enhancing bilateral exchanges in areas such as culture, academics, and education.
- Offer humanitarian aid to overseas Mongolian and Tibetan communities: By bringing together domestic and foreign non-governmental aid organizations, training volunteers to work with Mongolian and Tibetan youths, and integrating public and private resources to implement humanitarian aid projects.
Three Divisions
General Affairs Division
Organize exhibitions relating to Mongolian and Tibetan affairs by:
- Holding special exhibitions on Mongolian and Tibetan cultures;
- Organizing exhibition tours on Mongolian and Tibetan cultures;
- Managing affairs related to visitors and guided tours.
Update archives relating to Mongolian and Tibetan affairs by:
- Collecting historic information on Mongolian and Tibetan cultures and managing related digital archives;
- Preserving relics from Mongolian and Tibetan cultures and managing related digital archives.
Promote education relating to Mongolian and Tibetan affairs by:
- Holding educational activities on Mongolian and Tibetan cultures;
- Organizing forums and immersive courses on Mongolian and Tibetan topics;
- Offering courses on Mongolian and Tibetan languages.
Oversee operations and assets management of the Mongolian and Tibetan Cultural Center by:
- Improving the facilities of Center-owned properties;
- Organizing programs for networking and talent incubation;
- Offering opportunities for volunteering, public service, and youth internships.
Mongolian Affairs Division
Promote Mongolian culture and the multicultural development of Taiwan by:
- Organizing traditional Mongolian festivals such as the Genghis Khan Festival;
- Holding performances on Mongolian arts and culture;
- Holding exhibitions on Mongolian arts and cultural relics;
- Organizing academic seminars and workshops on Mongolian culture;
- Compiling and distributing Mongolian cultural journals;
- Rewarding and subsiding private organizations or domestic universities and colleges in developing programs relating to Mongolian culture, studies, and exchanges.
Care for Mongolian people in Taiwan by:
- Rendering assistance and care to all Mongolian people living in Taiwan;
- Offering support to domestic Mongolian communities.
Integrate private sector resources to promote exchanges with Mongolian communities by:
- Rewarding and subsiding private organizations or domestic universities and colleges with organizing cultural, academic, and educational exchanges as well as offering humanitarian aid to overseas Mongolian communities.
Tibetan Affairs Division
Develop Tibetan festivals that embody Taiwanese features by:
- Holding performances on Tibetan arts and culture;
- Organizing exhibitions on Tibetan arts and cultural relics;
- Offering forums on Tibetan culture.
Care for Tibetan people in Taiwan by:
- Rendering care and assistance to all Tibetan people living in Taiwan;
- Organizing festivals and networking events to preserve Tibetan culture and customs.
Integrate private resources to promote humanitarian aid and exchanges with Tibetan communities by:
- Promoting cultural exchanges with Tibetan communities;
- Offering support to overseas Tibetan people and communities.
