The Department of Arts Development of the Ministry of Culture is composed of four divisions. Its functions include the following:


  • Planning, coordinating, and promoting the nation's cultural policies in relation to the visual, public, and performing arts industries.
  • Researching and revising the nation's legislation in relation to the visual, public, and performing arts industries.
  • Planning, guiding, rewarding, and promoting the nation's cultural policies in relation to fostering creative talents from the visual, public, and performing arts industries.
  • Planning and promoting the nation's mechanisms for subsidizing individuals and groups from the visual and performing arts industries.
  • Planning, guiding, rewarding, and promoting events in relation to the visual and performing arts industries.
  • Planning, guiding, rewarding, and promoting the nation's music industry as well as its visual and performing arts industries.
  • Researching, collecting, planning, and publishing information concerning the scope of work and standards of the visual and performing arts industries.
  • Planning, guiding, rewarding, and promoting cross-sector art exhibitions and visual performances.
  • Planning, coordinating, and promoting the nation's cultural policies in relation to traditional arts and crafts.
  • All other developments in the visual and performing arts industries.
