The 2022 Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF) will run from April 14 to 24, featuring 6 Taiwanese films including "Moneyboys," "Listen Before You Sing," "Execution in Autumn," "Night Bus," "Part Forever," and "Tank Fairy." These films will be screened in person and available virtually for the whole festival.
The Taiwan Academy of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Los Angeles partners with the National Museum of Taiwan Literature for the first time to present "Literature and Migration: Flowing Across Words," featuring 7 Taiwanese literary works, at the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books from April 23 to 24.
Supported by the Taipei Music Center (TMC) and the Taipei Cultural Center in New York, an exhibition marking the successful completion of TMC, a new musical district within Taipei, opened at Cooper Union’s Irwin S. Chanin School of Architecture on April 6.

Taiwanese artist donates sculpture "Thinker" to Singapore
Taiwanese artist Lee Kuang-yu donated his bronze sculpture "Thinker" to Singapore’s nature park Gardens by the Bay earlier this month. The sculpture has generated considerable attention since its opening, including from the Singaporean Prime Minister and Culture Minister.
Minister calls for unity and resist cultural appropriation
In line with the global trend of integration and preservation of cultural assets and museums, the Bureau of Cultural Heritage organized a forum titled "LINKING: The Exchange Forum for International Organization of Cultural Preservation" on April 15 and 16.
MOC mourns the passing of Professor Lee Yung-jaan
Lee Yung-jaan, researcher of the Chung-Hua Institution for Economic Research and Executive Director of the Community Empowering Society, passed away on Apr. 19 at the age of 63. Upon hearing the news, Culture Minister Lee Yung-te expressed his sincere condolences and will present a certificate from the Ministry of Culture.
Cultural Features
Poet Li Min-yong's works are mainly poetry, prose, and cultural commentary. His poetic language has a historical dimension and philosophical reflection, presenting a unique artistic style and leaving a testimony and introspection regarding modern Taiwanese poetry and society. In 2022, he was awarded the 41st National Cultural Award for his long history of translating and publishing poems by foreign poets

The Pingtung 1936 Tobacco Culture Base, formerly the Pingtung Tobacco Factory, has borne witness to the glorious industrial history of Pingtung. The factory was closed in 2002 and registered as a historical building in 2017. Under the Pingtung County Museums Project, the factory was reborn in 2021 as the Pingtung 1936 Tobacco Culture Base, becoming a new landmark rich with local memories and both cultural and historical significance.
