After three years of preparation, the Ministry of Culture is hosting a large-scale solo exhibition "Animal Farm" by Taiwanese photographer Chou Ching-hui at the Museum of the Orient in Lisbon, Portugal. The three-month exhibition was kicked off from July 14 and will run through Oct. 23.
Supported by Taiwan Cultural Center in Tokyo, Taiwanese renowned art team Luxury Logico participates in the Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale 2022 with its art project "Fly! no matter what" for the first time, exhibiting its works at the Echigo-Tsumariyama Museum of Contemporary Art, Japan from Apr. 29 through Nov. 13.

Taiwanese glove puppetry film wins award at Swiss festival
After bagging three awards at the Taipei Film Festival on July 9, "Demigod: The Legend Begins," voiced by late Taiwanese master puppeteer Vincent Huang, went on to win the Audience Award for Best Asian Film at the 21st Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival, which took place in Switzerland.
First Taiwanese dancer to join the National Ballet of Spain
Dancer Hsueh Yu-hsien, director of Taiwan dance troupe Genio Dance Group, will join the National Ballet of Spain in September, marking the first time that a Taiwanese had been selected to join the national team. Besides performing, Hsueh hopes to learn the skills of managing a national dance team.
Presidential citation awarded to late chant-song artist
Yang Xiu-qing, the preserver of the important traditional performing arts "chant-song," passed away on June 17 at the age of 89. Minister of Culture Lee Yung-te attended the memorial service to express his condolences and presented the presidential citation to Yang’s second son Yang Chin.

Liu Feng-shueh was born in 1925 in Qiqihar, Heilongjiang Province, China. As a young girl, she studied classical ballet with Russian children during the day, and at night, if she had the opportunity, she would watch the "shamanism" rituals that she was so curious about. Her interest in dance developed at an early age, nourished by a multicultural environment.

Taking its inspiration and drive from observations of the close relationship between modern theater and the pulse and evolution of society, the theatrical troupe Creative Society was founded in 1997 by a group of veteran Taiwanese theater directors, drama scholars, art administrators and media workers, and has throughout its existence been deeply committed to exploring new aesthetic styles and creative elements with original scripts.
