"Isle to Isle: Taiwan Design Week," organized by the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Malaysia, is launched at the George Town Festival in Penang. Taiwanese design projects display at a design exhibition titled "Beyond Aesthetics from July 16 to 24.
Comic-Con International: San Diego, the largest comics and animation event in the States, comes up at the San Diego Convention Center from July 21 to 24. This year, the Taiwan Exhibit is themed "Jump! Taiwan Comics," with comic creators Penguin Noodle and Mukeke as special guests.
With support from the Ministry of Culture and the Taiwan Cultural Paris Center in Paris, Taiwanese performing arts groups perform in the OFF Festival d'Avignon, one of the world's most renowned fringe arts festivals, from July 7 to 30 in Avignon, France.

Taiwan troupes win praise for performance in French Fest
Taiwanese performing troupes paraded on the streets of France along with more than 1,000 performing groups from countries all over the world, marking the start of the annual Festival d'Avignon, one of the most important contemporary performing arts events in the world.
Paiwan stone house wins France
Breathable Paiwan Slate House, a traditional stone slate house located in Sandimen Township, Pingtung County in southern Taiwan, won the bronze medal in the category of Architectural Design at the 2022 Novum Design Award. This is the second time that this project has won an award in France, highlighting Pingtung's prowess in design.
Virtual tours of historical sites on NHRM
To deepen the public understanding of the history of the White Terror in Taiwan, the National Human Rights Museum (NHRM) has created and launched websites that allow visitors to take panoramic virtual tours around the Green Island White Terror Memorial Park, Jing-Mei White Terror Memorial Park, and Ankang Reception House.

Hsu Wu-yung was born in Tainan and grew up molded by the Japanese education system, ultimately becoming one of the most important painters in Taiwanese modern art history. As a doctor, one bears witness to birth, aging, sickness, and decay. This experience helped Hsu Wu-yung shape the personal credo, which he had said time and again: "Physical life always comes to an end at some point. The only thing that can live forever is art."

La Cie MaxMind theater troupe produces works that combine elements of traditional and contemporary performing arts to reflect the various cultural influences that shape Taiwanese art and humanistic thinking. They also try to deal with modern conflicts, such as the need to both exploit and protect the environment, national identity, and the tensions between different social classes.
