Thailand's annual art and cultural event, Bangkok Design Week (BKKDW) is held from Feb. 4 to 12. Seven artworks sharing the observations and ideas of Taiwanese and Thai designers are displayed; while the Taiwan Design Research Institute is showcasing works related to the concept of circular design.
Paiwan artist Aluaiy Kaumaka's textile sculpture "Semasipu - Remembering Our Intimacies" is on display at the Adelaide Contemporary Experimental from Feb. 4 to March 18. The "Casiquiare" touring exhibition is an extension of the 23rd Biennale of Sydney.
"Nature Matters," a new art exhibition co-organized by the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in the United States and Art Bank Taiwan, features the works of eight Taiwanese artists who specialize in modern art at Twin Oaks Estate in Washington D.C. from Aug. 12, 2022, until July 2023.

The 31st edition of the Taipei International Book Exhibition closed on Feb. 5 with great success. The six-day event was attended by 470 exhibitors from 33 countries and attracted over 505,000 visitors participating in the talks, panel discussions, workshops, and meetings.
Taiwan & Czechia sign MOU, promoting literary exchanges
The National Museum of Taiwan Literature and the Václav Havel Library signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on Feb. 6 to strengthen their relationship through literature exchange. The signing ceremony, conducted via video conference, was overseen by NMTL director Nikky Lin and VHL executive director Michael Žantovský.
Taiwan designers win Grammy for Best Recording Package
Taiwanese designers Xiao Qing-Yang and Hsiao Chun-tien won the Best Recording Package award for the design of the "Beginningless Beginning" album cover at the 65th GRAMMY Awards in Los Angeles. This is the second consecutive year Taiwanese designers have won the award.
Cultural Features
A "texture artist" is like a makeup artist for film sets. They are primarily responsible for making sets, props, and other items look like they fit in with the environment and time period of the film. Texture, says Frank Chen, creates atmosphere, not only helping the actors get more into character, but also helping the audience believe in the truth that lies behind the images on the screen.

The NTCRI Taipei Branch consists of seven floors and an attic, altogether offering exhibition venues, workshops, studios, a library, conference rooms, and a social lounge with food and drinks. It serves as a marketing platform for craft artists and a cultural venue for the general public, introducing and promoting craft arts by hosting creative bazaars, cultural festivals, and exhibitions.
